MassChallenge is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting innovation and entrepreneurship through collaboration and development. We have more than a decade of experience accelerating startups, industry, and innovation ecosystems. We work across sectors to drive a stronger future through collaborative innovation.
Since 2016, in MassChallenge Mexico we have accelerated more than 140 Startups, we create acceleration processes without taking any type of equity. To these efforts we add the support of experts and partners. Among our greatest pride is having among our alumni the first Crypto-Unicorn in Latin America, Bitso, who was part of our Acceleration Program in 2016.
Through our partners and experts, we bring together some of the leading teams in corporate innovation, industry knowledge, and government leadership to our promising, high-impact startups. Startups admitted into MassChallenge go through a 4-month period of curriculum, mentorship, and exhibition events designed to produce avenues of growth, funding, and 3rd-party collaboration.

About our application process
MassChallenge uses a competition model to select our startups. Prospective MassChallenge startups submit application(s) for the MassChallenge accelerator program(s) they would like to join. After submitting the application, startups will participate in one or two rounds of judging. At the end of these judging rounds, the highest-impact and highest-potential startups are invited to participate in the accelerator as Finalists.
About our judging process
In the first round of judging, all applications are reviewed online by our international community of judges.
- Each application is reviewed by at least three judges.
- Each applicant receives individualized feedback from the judges.
Startups are notified if they make the second round of judging. In the second round of judging, those startups pitch to a panel of judges or challenge partners in-person or via Skype (in some circumstances).
Just applying to the accelerator program can be a valuable experience for a startup. MassChallenge ensures that every single startup receives a comprehensive read of their application by assigning each of them a panel of diverse judges that represent a range of different industries:
- All applicants receive feedback from expert judges on their online applications.
- All Semi-Finalists receive extended feedback from expert judges on their in-person pitches.
Eligibility
We accept applications for early stage startups across all industries, from anywhere in the world. If your startup has raised less than $1M in equity-based funding, generated less than $2M in annual revenue, and are set to make a big impact in your industry or on the world, you’re our kind of entrepreneur.

Throughout the program, these are some of our more relevant dates, it's important to mention that this year's program will be hybrid, and require your physical presence in Mexico at some point, so you don’t miss any part of the acceleration process
- Application Season February: 15th to April 06th 2022

- Round 1 Judging: March 25th to April 27th, 2022
- Round 2 Judging: May 3th to 5th, 2022
- Finalist Announcement: May 17th, 2022

- Pre-final Judging: October 04th to 5th, 2022
- Final Judging: October 20th, 2022
- Awards Ceremony: November 30th, 2022

Disclaimer:
- The whole process is in English so our global community expert could give feedback to your startup. This includes the application for Round 1 (it is important to attach a video that could have subtitles in English) and pitches your startup for Round 2.
- The application cost is 100 USD, but you could gain from 50% to 100% discount code, you only need to be engaged in our events and social media. This code must be used BEFORE you start the application process. We could not refund paid applications.
- The Round 2 judging will be a remote activity coordinated by MassChallenge Mexico. Dates are from: May 3th to 5th, 2022
- Our program works for 30 to 40 startups to ensure the tailor-made acceleration process. Consider that only 5% of the applicants enter the program. Besides, during the whole process, you will gain feedback from our expert community, to help you understand better how to keep improving your business.
